Postnatal therapy sessions
Book NowIn many places across the world, postnatal massage and nurturing a new mamma are a completely normal, traditional part of post-birth care.
These practices help the new mother to feel good about herself, help her to focus on, and bond with her baby as well as to rest and recover from the birth, therefore reducing both physical and emotional stresses.

Mamma Me Time offers postnatal massage sessions which incorporate specific techniques and various therapy options to help aid recovery from pregnancy and birth. All therapies are completely tailored to your specific needs, taking into account your type of birth, age of your baby, method of feeding and of course, your preferences.
Indian head massage is a firm favourite for new mum’s as it targets the whole upper back, neck, shoulder and head which are often very tense at this time. This can be easily performed while holding or feeding your baby and can be performed either over clothes or directly onto the skin with nurturing warmed oils.
Some benefits of postnatal massage include:
Reducing muscle tension and easing aches and pains.
Mental & physical relaxation. Increase of milk supply and supporting breastfeeding. Gives you some time out to relax, reflect and recharge. Improves circulation, relieving swelling, reducing the risk of varicose veins and lowering blood pressure. Improves digestion and aids bowel mobility, avoiding constipation and decreasing the risk of haemorrhoids. Aids recovery from birth. Simply makes you feel better!!!

You can usually attend for a gentle postnatal massage as soon as you feel well after your birth, in fact in some cultures massage hours after birth is a normal part of the mother’s postnatal healing care. Chrissie will be able to advise you regarding your specific circumstances.
After a caesarean section it is advised to wait at least 6 weeks before having any abdominal massage and massage local to your scar but you may still safely receive postnatal therapies avoiding this area.
Non mobile babies up to approx. 6 months are welcome to 45minute massage sessions; the session will be adapted as to suit both mum and baby’s needs.
Each massage is inclusive of a postnatal aromatherapy blend if suitable and desired. Please note that for safety, aromatherapy will not be used when babies are present in the studio.
Whether you are booking simply for relaxation and recovery or to provide relief from a specific physical or emotional issue relating to your birth, Chrissie can advise you on the best combination of therapies to give you the best possible results for your needs.

Just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful massage. I will almost certainly return for another massage soon and sing your praises to the other new mums I know.
